Protection, preservation, and promotion of our shared technical heritage and its surrounding culture are the three principles on which FIVA was founded and continues to operate.
Founded in 1966 by clubs and enthusiasts from different countries, FIVA united people around a shared mission to preserve historic vehicles and their culture.
Today FIVA is represented around the world, and in Ukraine the official national representative is the Ukrainian Automobile Club.

FIVA ID
FIVA ID is an identity certificate for a historic vehicle, documenting key characteristics, history, technical state, and cultural value.
Definition of a Historic Vehicle
It is important to define which vehicles can be recognized as historic by FIVA criteria.
A historic vehicle is generally considered a mechanically propelled road vehicle that:
- is at least 30 years old;
- is maintained in historically authentic condition;
- is not used as a daily transport vehicle;
- has technical and cultural heritage value.
Key Facts About FIVA ID
- The certificate is based on a detailed form completed by the owner and confirmed by experts.
- Certificates are issued by FIVA national representatives and by FIVA Technical Commission in specific cases.
- Certification is paid and governed by FIVA and national representative rules.
- The certificate is valid for ten years or until ownership changes.


The Ukrainian Automobile Club received FIVA national representative status in 2020 and can officially issue FIVA ID certificates in Ukraine.
